Over half my client convos this summer have centred around one thing: profitability. How do we make the pharmacy you already own more profitable and more valuable?

Just this month already, that has meant designing custom growth strategies and campaigns, building plans to increase EBITDA three years ahead of a future sale, completing an RFP opportunity to service a nursing home, developing a strategy to expand pharmacy services into a remote community, banner, accounting, and advisor relationships.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to any of this. Every pharmacy we work with is different. Different communities, owners, financial realities, opportunities and ambitions. We treat each one with care and thoughtfulness, looking for the strategies that make sense for that owner and that business.

Owners need to occasionally get off the hamster wheel and look at their business from 30,000 foot view. Another $250,000+ in annual EBITDA is more than a number. It could help pay for your kids’ university, pay down your debt, hire that extra pharmacist, finally renovate the basement.
