Mary’s pharmacy career began in England, where she practiced for seven years across NHS hospitals, social enterprise organizations, and community pharmacies within the National Health Service. Her clinical background is broad, but her passion has always been clear: advancing mental health care and championing health equity, particularly within underserved communities such as the Black community. After relocating to Canada, Mary continued to build a career defined not only by clinical excellence, but by advocacy and mentorship. She has partnered with organizations in both the UK and Canada to mentor international pharmacists and pharmacy students navigating licensing in Canada and the UK. Having experienced the relocation journey herself, she brings practical insight, honesty, and encouragement to those considering a similar path. Mary recently served a two year term as committee member for the Ontario College of Pharmacists fitness to practice committee and occasionally supports as Clinical Instructor for the University of Toronto's Leslie Dan school of Pharmacy. Mary is a strong advocate for diversity in the pharmacy and healthcare leadership space in Canada and has worked on multiple equity projects. She believes that representation in pharmacy leadership is essential and necessary in order to adequately serve patients and communities. Mary’s work is a reminder that pharmacy is more than a profession, it’s a platform for impact. We are grateful for leaders like Mary who continue to elevate the profession and amplify voices.
